Every year newspapers and magazines run articles on things you can buy for your Valentine on February 14th.
According to the National Retail Federation, in the US alone, consumers will spend on average, $116.21 each on various Valentine’s day related merchandise. That translates to a total of $15.7 billion in the US this year.
So, if you’re feeling a little stressed about it all, here are ten things to do for a lovely Valentine’s Day, all of them free, courtesy of the teen performance acting class at the Richmond Gateway Theatre:
1. Hold hands
2. Walk on the beach
3. Spend it with your cat
4. Write angst poetry
5. Watch a romantic movie
6. Sing someone a love song
7. Express the way you feel out loud
8. Let the people in your life know how important they are to you
9. Make breakfast together
10. Ignore the whole thing and play video games
